Cantaloupe & Prosciutto
with Fig Balsamic
Drizzle
A simple, elegant appetizer that captures the best of summer in one perfect bite.
Three ingredients, no cooking, and it looks like something from a much fancier party than the one you're actually throwing.
Sweet cantaloupe, salty prosciutto, and a real drizzle of Aged Fig (Black Mission) Dark Balsamic — that's the whole recipe. The fig balsamic is what turns a simple melon-and-ham bite into something people stop and ask about.
This is the kind of appetizer that disappears in minutes at a wine night, a picnic, or a backyard BBQ, and it takes about as long to make as it does to explain.
Sweet Fruit Needs a Bold Balsamic
Cantaloupe is delicate, and prosciutto is salty, so the balsamic drizzled on top has to bring real depth without overwhelming either one. A properly aged fig balsamic does exactly that — it's thick enough to cling to the fruit and complex enough to stand up to the cured meat, without needing anything else on the plate.
Three ingredients is only simple if all three are actually good. The balsamic is doing more work here than people realize.
— The Olive 'n Vinnie's KitchenSkewer these ahead of time, keep them chilled, and drizzle right before serving so the balsamic stays glossy instead of soaking in.

The Drizzle That Ties It Together
Aged Fig (Black Mission) Dark Balsamic
Rich, jammy, and deeply fruity, this balsamic brings a sweetness that reads as elegant rather than sugary. Beautiful on fruit, cheese boards, grilled meats, or stirred into a glass of prosecco.
